Ingredients
- 1lb ground beef or venison
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 15-oz can crushed tomatoes
- 1 15-oz can diced tomatoes
- 1 24-oz jar pasta sauce
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 Tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 12 lasagna noodles
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded parmesan cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Place a large pot or Dutch oven on the stovetop.
- Add the ground meat, diced onion and minced garlic and turn the burner on to medium.
- Brown the meat and drain any excess oil from the pot.
- Pour the tomatoes, pasta sauce, broth, Italian seasoning and salt into the pot. Stir to combine.
- Bring the soup to a boil.
- Break the uncooked lasagna noodles into pieces and place. Stir the noodles into the soup.
- Once the noodles are cooked and soft, pour the heavy cream into the soup and stir the soup.
- Add the shredded parmesan cheese and 1 cup mozzarella cheese to the pot and stir the cheese into the soup.
- Allow the cheese to melt into the soup.
- Serve the soup topped with shredded mozzarella cheese.
