Ingredients
- 2.5 cups unbleached flour
- 2 Tablespoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 8 Tablespoons cold butter, cubed
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 2 Tablespoons honey
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
- Combine 1 cup milk and 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar in a bowl.
- In a separate mixing bowl, add the flour, baking powder and salt. Whisk to combine.
- Cut a cold stick of butter into cubes and add the cold cubed butter to the mixing bowl with the flour in it.
- Use a pastry blender to cut the butter into the flour.
- Pour the milk mixed with apple cider vinegar and honey into the bowl.
- Use a spoon or dough hook to mix everything together until the dough sticks together to form a ball.
- Cover the bowl and place the dough in the fridge to chill for 5-10 minutes.
- After the dough chills, transfer it to a floured work surface.
- Use a rolling pin to roll the dough out into a large in-inch thick rectangle.
- Create the biscuit layers by folding the dough. Fold one side of the rectangle of dough into the center followed by the other side like a trifold. Then fold one more time to create a square of dough.
- Use your hand to gently press the dough down to slightly flatten.
- Repeat the process of rolling the dough out and folding it up a total of 3 times to create the biscuit layers.
- Roll the dough out into a rectangle that is about ½-inch thick.
- Use a biscuit cutter to cut the dough into 8 circles.
- Place the biscuits onto a sheet pan lined with parchment paper.
- Place the pan in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes at 375 degrees.
- Remove the sheet pan when the tops of the biscuits are slightly golden brown.
