These crockpot pork carnitas are a flavorful and easy crockpot recipe made with pork loin generously seasoned and slow cooked in fresh orange and lime juice to make a flavorful shredded meat perfect for tacos, enchiladas and more.
Ingredients
- 4lb pork roast or loin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 Tablespoon cumin
- 2 teaspoons cayenne
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 Tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 cup orange juice
- 2 Tablespoons lime juice
Instructions
- Combine the salt, onion powder, cumin, cayenne, red pepper flakes, and minced garlic in a bowl.
- Rub the spice mix onto the pork.
- Place the pork in the crockpot.
- Pour the orange and lime juice around the pork loin.
- Set the crockpot to cook on low for 6-8 hours or high to cook for 4-5 hours.
- When the meat is cooked through, it will pull apart easily.
- Use forks to pull the meat apart and mix into the juices in the crockpot.
- Transfer to a large bowl to serve.
