Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup cane sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1.5 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees and line an 8x8 baking pan with parchment paper.
- Add 1 cup brown sugar, ½ cup cane sugar and 2 sticks of softened butter to a bowl.
- Use a hand mixer to cream the butter and sugars together.
- Add 2 eggs and 1 TBS vanilla extract to the creamed butter and sugar and beat to combine.
- Pour 2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon baking soda into the bowl.
- Use the hand mixer to mix and combine the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
- Add 1 cup of chocolate chips to the bowl and fold the chocolate chips into the batter.
- Transfer the cookie batter to the lined baking pan and use a silicone spatula to spread it out evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup chocolate chips on top of the dough.
- Place the pan in the oven and bake the cookie bars at 325 for 55 minutes or until the top of the bars are golden and a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
- Allow the bars to cool completely before serving.
