Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 Tablespoons minced garlic
- ¼ cup yellow onion, diced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 cups shell noodles
- 3 cups bone broth
- 1 cup milk
- 1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 - 6oz can tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Place a cast iron skillet on the stovetop and turn the burner to medium,
- Add 1 pound ground beef, ¼ cup diced onion, 2 Tablespoons minced garlic and 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning to the skillet. Use a spatula to break the meat apart and cook the beef until it is brown.
- Add 1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard, ¼ teaspoon nutmeg, 1-6oz can tomato paste, 1 teaspoon salt to the browned meat.
- Stir to mix the ingredients together.
- Add 3 cups bone broth to the skillet with 1 cup of milk and bring to a simmer.
- Add the noodles to the skillet and fold them into the mixture.
- Reduce the heat, cover the skillet with a lid, and allow the skillet to simmer for 5 minutes.
- At 5 minutes, remove the lid and stir to mix the skillet. Test the noodles to make sure they are done cooking.
- When the noodles are done cooking, turn the heat off.
- Add 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese to the skillet and stir the cheese into the dish.
- Remove the pot from the stovetop and allow to set for 10 minutes before serving.
