Ingredients
- 1.5 sticks butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ⅓ cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 2.25 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ginger
- ½ teaspoon cloves
- ½ cup cane sugar, set aside to roll the dough in
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, use a hand mixer to cream butter and brown sugar together.
- Add the molasses and egg into the bowl and beat together with the mixer.
- Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves. Use the hand mixer to mix everything together
- Scoop the dough into balls and roll each ball in cane sugar.
- Place the balls of dough on the cookie sheet.
- Place the sheet pan in the freezer to chill for 5 minutes.
- Remove the sheet pan from the freezer and place in the oven to bake for 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees.
